“We are people working together, providing opportunities that will empower families and individuals to discover, acknowledge, and develop their maximum potential physically, spiritually, and economically.”
Hosanna House marks 30 years of providing health and human services to the children, youth, and families of the Wilkinsburg community and eastern region of Western, PA. Hosanna House is celebrating people who have been with us since its inception and those who provide support, enabling us to realize our mission, bringing us closer to ending a life cycle of poverty and helping individuals and families reach their maximum potential!
Programs and Services
Hosanna House is a charitable non-profit community center founded in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1990. To understand Hosanna House’s importance and impact upon individuals and the community, you must understand Wilkinsburg’s history since the economic decline in the 1980’s; the purposes behind the founding of Hosanna House; and hear the stories, trials and successes experienced by the people and community that Hosanna House has faithfully served for over 30 years and will continue to serve for years to come.
Our mission is to help people who are facing difficult life issues that are beyond their ability to resolve on their own. Today, Hosanna House impacts the lives of over 40,000 people each year in its Wallace Avenue and Sherwood Road locations. These facilities provide a safe place for people to come and receive the help they need. On any given day, as many as 1,000 community residents come into the center to receive or deliver services. Hosanna House provides health and human services to children and families that include early childhood education, youth leadership training, tutoring and mentoring, family support services, career development, and job placement services, health and fitness programs, and a host of other essential human services.
The staff and volunteers of Hosanna House continue to work hard to sustain the foundation of work that has influenced Wilkinsburg and surrounding communities for three decades. We are committed to fulfilling our mission.
