A Boost for Wilkinsburg’s Housing Stock
The Peebles Square Development on Peebles Avenue, Trenton Avenue and South Avenue co-developed by ACTION Housing and Hosanna House Inc. The project consists of 12 new homes, and the renovation of 6 row houses and 1 single-family house.
The new homes, all with three bedrooms, were priced between $80,000 and $85,000. Buyers who qualified received a discounted price with a second mortgage that does not have to be repaid until the buyer sells the house or the loan has been forgiven.

Revitalizing Two Historic Structures in Wilkinsburg
HHI offered Supportive Services for 77 families in a scatter-site housing development (Crescent & Falconhurst), health & wellness resources for the elderly, and baskets of cheer throughout the community for the holiday season. Hosanna House’s services were directed at enhancing the quality of life of residents through a variety programs and services. Services included open access to educational and employment services, health and wellness programs, child and youth services, social and recreational activities, life skills including household maintenance, parenting, and budgeting, and outreach on human services available throughout the community.
